2026 Fur Rendezvous & Iditarod Sled Dog Race
The Official Anchorage Headquarters of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race®
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is one of Alaska’s iconic winter events, an annual long-distance sled dog race stretching from Anchorage to Nome for an approximate 1,000-mile journey through Alaska. The excitement starts in Anchorage on March 7, 2026.
Guests of The Wildbirch Hotel will find themselves at the heart of North America’s premier winter festival, the 2026 Fur Rendezvous, which celebrates the spirit of Alaskans with various cultural and sporting events from Feb. 26 to March 8, 2026. The Ceremonial Start of the 54th Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race® will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in downtown Anchorage and can be viewed from The Wildbirch Hotel.
